A-MCR: Amateur Mountain Condition Report.

Real ones can be found at: www.acmg.ca/mcr/archives.asp

Last weekend during the Rampart Creek trip, groups climbed 2 o'clock falls, bison falls, balfour wall and shades of beauty. The ice was thin and a bit chandeliery, but both Bison and Balfour can be easily top roped. Climbs are coming in nicely.

Took a tour up Highwood pass this weekend with half of Calgary. Snow depth was 50-70 cm and there was wide spread evidence of the last avalanche cycle over the past few days, but nothing new slide on saturday. Skiing was good in places, but ground strikes were guaranteed (hopefully grass and not rock). Pack trail traveled fine, but breaking trail through the woods was an exercise in untangling skis from deadfall.
